Totally agree with you, just a scam to void warranty.

Apple having a next to godhood status I guess they can do whatever they want nowadays.

Just hate some people drinking the cool-aid and now sawing that it's a good thing because it will make people stop smoking!

long time ago freedom meant something!

Chanel #5 is “bio-hazard.”? sometime I think so :-)

The first case involved a Mid-2007 MacBook under APP that was brought to the Jordan Creek Apple Store in West Des Moines, Iowa, for overheating. Apple voided the warranty because the computer was used in a house where there was smoking. It also refused to work on the machine due to the “health risks of second hand smoke.”

Another case involved an iMac under APP that Apple refused to work on because it was deemed “contaminated” by tobacco smoke and and considered a “bio-hazard.”

Now that's a tad ridiculous. Especially when they can wear gloves and a white mask, like those you wear in the doctor's office if you have the flu.

And you can't get "second hand smoke" from an inanimate object that isn't smoking!

It's just an excuse to void the warranty. While they're doing that they're probably getting a good strong whiff of perfume that their coworker might be wearing.

Which can't be healthy for all people.

Hey thanks.

I actually did go over to Bing to check it out, but I couldn't do it. They require hotmail or that live ID crap. I can't abide that. If I had no other choice, I'd do it. I tried. But they suck.

And for some reason, somebody over at Bing has the idea that we would LIKE for vids to initiate and play simply if our cursor moves over it. Sometimes I wonder where these ppl get their ideas. ("Just tell me who to choke!")

I did finally find NoScript, it's a script that actually does work on the google news problem. I had to dig forever to find it, though. I've been looking for awhile, several months. (Trying out other firefox add-ons that didn't work took up some time...)

It seems you fixed the UPS problem, glad to see that. =)

Try this link: http://search.yahoo.com/ :-) while the big bad Bing take over. This is also a sad thing, independent survey say that yahoo search return more relevant link that google. But like twitter it's google that has the hype.

It's sad that the open source search project got canned (was the wikipedia of search)

we will see where it goes !

Man... facebook really sucks! I would actually delete my account if it weren't for the fact that some of my loved ones are on there. Twitter I can handle, because I was using tumblr which is exactly the same thing. I don't actually know how or why twitter got so much attention when tumblr was there before twitter was. (I think.) The only difference I can tell between the two is that twitter got television mentions and tumblr did not.

Twitter is like Christopher Columbus in this respect. "Twitter." "Twit." Ever feel like a big joke is being played on us?

"Just say it on TV a lot, the twits'll come."

There IS more to the web. I just don't know where it is yet. But I'm looking for it.

Also, I'm looking for an alternative to google news. It's the refresh issue. I had a refresh blocker add-on for firefox that used to work. Stopped it from reloading when I'm in the middle of reading the headlines or watching a video. (Yeah it refreshed in the middle of me watching a news vid.) My blocker is still there, but somehow stopped working. It's not like I didn't keep it updated.

I made the recommended changes in about:config, to no avail. Google seems to be actively circumventing a user's settings, in regards to this issue.

Maybe there's some setting at google that I haven't been able to locate. I really feel like I've looked everywhere though. Tried different browsers, too.

Shit. At least on bing there's a contact/feedback option. How does one let google know that they hate their ever-lovin'-guts? I used to like google. It was a great alternative to yahoo. I think I was using dogpile before I discovered google. But that was many moons ago. Google got too big for its pants and no longer gives a shit if we don't like their bugs ("features"?).

All I can say is... when folks were fed up with yahoo's seizure-inducing search page (which has gotten better since then), they went to clean, smooth google. That's why I remember choosing google.

Ppl are now fed up with google. Well---at least I am.

So for many reasons... you certainly are not alone. I'm seeing more and more ppl becoming dissatisfied with these services. Or---at least they have the same type of complaints. I can't tell you how many of my friends (who are active on fb) tell me how much they hate facebook... or twitter, etc.

And of course I do it too. It still sucks, though.

For a rename you can ask me, i can do it. I've also removed the limitation of only one character per email, so if you want to try another persona go ahead :-)

It's not very hard to setup, kind of like wordpress in some ways. what is not obvious when you download the kit is that there is also another file the "core modules" the game work without them but the core add cities and more activities in the game.

Very very very fun :-)

Hey =)

Yeah I was wanting a new user name but I had already used Hypatia, so I thought I'd create a new character, but it wouldn't let me and I think it was because I used the same email address. But it was so fun playing that I didn't care and continued playing.

Fun as hell! I love it.

How customizable is it? Was it hard to set up? What a cool idea.
